DETAILS:
The 27th annual Providence Festival of Trees, chaired by Linda Wright, is presented by Miller Family Holdings, a local family with a long tradition of community giving and support of Providence. The holiday village features more than 130,000 lights on exquisitely decorated trees, along with live entertainment, mini-trees, and wreaths. Children ages 12 and under can visit the teddy bear hospital, learn about hospital care and receive a free teddy bear. Kids can capture holiday fun creating crafts in Santa’s Workshop and have a photo taken with Santa. Families can gather ideas for their own holiday decor and get tips from the experts on our demonstration stage. Again this year, attendees can vote for their favorite tree in the festival’s “People’s Choice Award” contest.

Providence Festival of Trees seeks to raise more than $500,000. A portion of that amount will help provide charity care for patients. The remaining funds will benefit several Providence Health & Services programs:

• The Center for Medically Fragile Children at Providence Child Center,

• The Gately Academy,

• Cancer research and support services at Providence Cancer Center,

• And Providence’s Medication Assistance Program to help provide medication for the elderly and other individuals with limited financial means.
